I had a terrible experience with Kevin, who hosted a meetup group called NBH- Natural Born Hikers. I`ve reported it several times, but despite all my follow-ups, they just ignore my messages. As unreasonable as it may seem, the meeting point for a walk was in Stratford metro station itself. I made it all the way from Edgware Street and arrived early, so I left the station. I didn`t even know that the meeting point inside the station was up to 15 minutes before meeting time. The rendezvous point was very illogical, because some people may have arrived by bus or people arrived early and left the station like me, and the meeting inside the station meant I had to go up and pay another fee. I stood at the Stratford bus station in front of the subway and texted the organizer in the group for over 20 minutes to explain the situation and asked him where I could join the group when they left the station, but he did not hesitate to respond to one of my texts. When I called him to tell him where I was, he kept asking if I saw flowers and a boat, which I didn`t do. Stratford is a very large resort and the organizer didn`t know where it was, and he had no idea where I was. He didn`t know the place and he didn`t bother to help me, so he just told me I`m sorry you had to go to the stadium! It really me off. I`m not local. Did not know the place and was waiting there, hoping that he would respond to my texts.
It was due to his mismanagement, but to my surprise, when I started criticizing him for this mismanagement, he suddenly clung to me !!! Instead of helping me, he hooks me up and redirects my calls to his voicemail. I was abandoned at the bus stop with tears in my eyes. The organizer was very rude and irresponsible. Instead of taking responsibility for organizing a meeting point inside the metro station, instead of apologizing and helping me find my way to join the group, he hangs me! When I brought him back into the group, he accused me of yelling at him, which was not true at first. He only hooked me when I started criticizing him for the terrible point of organization and for not responding to my texts in the group. Even though I was yelling at him, which I had not done, he was responsible for what had happened and should have led me to join the group that was in the same place where I was. Before hangings, the only answer I heard from him was that other people found the meeting place! I talked about this very rude and irresponsible organizer to meet several times and send follow-ups, but Meetup did not respond to any of my messages. This was not my first walk in meetup. I do these walks regularly and I have never seen such unacceptable behaviour by an event organizer, and I have never been so offended. And he called me a liar when I said I arrived early and left the station when he said, ”I was there all the time.” I have come a long way and I have evidence of everything.
I have my osyter card that shows the time of my trip, I have screenshots of all my messages asking him to let me know where to meet them outside the metro station, and I have the story of elected numbers that show me how he insulted me and hooked me, and how he left me at the bus stop instead of helping me to join the group after waiting so long in front of the station.
